Soprano, Pianist, Composer and Instructor at the Miami Conservatory of Music, Gillian Cura holds a Bachelor in Music from "University of Florida". Gillian began her music career at an early age in Havana, Cuba studying piano and choral conducting while actively performing in several national television shows.
She moved to Central America where she worked as a piano accompanist and instructor at the Polytechnic University of Nicaragua where she studied voice with the prestigious Cuban Baritone Alberto San Jose. Later became part of the "National Lyric Group" performing the title roles of Menotti's Ahmal and the Night Visitors and Vives' Dona Francisquita along with "Frasquita" in Bizet's Carmen, "Christine" in Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, the ensemble of the "Compania Espanola de Zarzuela y Teatro" in Vives' La Corte del Faraon, Dubois' The Seven Last Word of Christ and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater accompanied by the National Orchestra at the Ruben Dario National Theater.
Currently residing in Miami, where she continued to study at "New World School of the Arts" and joined the studios of Manny Perez for voice as well as Wayne Bumpers' and Dr. Ignacio Diaz Gravier's for piano. She had an important role representing the "Beethoven Society of Miami Dade" performing in various events such as "Beethoven and Beyond Concerts Series" and "Beethoven y Mas" featuring relevant local ensembles like the AlhambraOrchestra, and the International String Quartet. Performed master classes held by baritone Daniel Washington, baritone Luis Alberto Llaneza, and songwriter/producer Jon Secada. She recently completed the acting workshop of "Teatro en Miami Studio" with Ernesto and Sandra Garcia. Consecutive winner of contests in original Music Composition and Poetry. Ms. Cura is currently recording her original songs and other artists' at EverCircleProductions, an emerging company of her own as well as becoming a certified Yoga Instructor.
